Goodbye to a Zestful 2022
CEO and Co-founder
They say time flies when you’re having fun, and I feel as though this perfectly describes the amazing year we’ve had at Zesty in 2022.
As a founder, there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing your “baby” begin to blossom into maturation. And for us, 2022 was the year we expanded our product offering to help organizations around the world make their cloud more efficient and sustainable during unpredictable economic times.
Now that this year is coming to an end, I’d like to reflect on the events that made this year special as well as the accomplishments by Zesty’s talented employees that I’m most proud of.
We More Than Doubled in Size and Opened Our First US Office
At the end of 2021, we had 88 employees. Today, we’ve grown to 147! That’s a 59% increase in just one year.
Not only did we grow tremendously this year, but Zesty opened its first ever US office in San Mateo, California and already, we have eleven employees working from the Bay Area. In fact, our very own CRO, Lori Brigg, recently moved to join them –– bringing some of that special zest we’re so proud of as we build our US-based team.
I’m already grateful for the new Zesters we’ve recruited this year –– in Tel Aviv, San Francisco, Ukraine and beyond. This is a team that is not only professional to the highest level, but also creative, dedicated, and fun to work with. I can’t wait to see all we can accomplish in 2023!
We Moved to a Brand New Office
In May, we moved to a brand-new Tel Aviv headquarters. The new office is centrally located, has all the amenities we love (coffee, music room, chill-out spaces, and even showers for those who come from the gym), and has plenty of room for us to grow.
I’m so proud of our new home and hope to host more of our partners, customers, investors, and friends so they can see the heart of Zesty for themselves.
We Raised $75 Million in Series B Funding
Raising capital is a huge confirmation that our vision of making the cloud more dynamic and efficient is resonating with our market. I was honored to have raised a $75 million Series B led by B Capital and Sapphire Ventures with participation from Next47 and S-Capital. This funding brought our total to over $116 million, enabling us to hire more talented Zesters and further develop our product.
Of course, the best part about new funding is the fact that we are able to expand our footprint and help more businesses around the world thrive –– even in today’s rocky economic times. Customers like Heap have saved over $1 million dollars and I’m looking forward to bringing these capabilities to more customers around the world.
We Launched Zesty Disk for Kubernetes
We’re excited to offer our dynamic storage capabilities of Zesty Disk to Kubernetes users, integrating the product with persistent volumes (PVs).
Kubernetes is one of the most groundbreaking technologies in the DevOps world. But we realized that ordering a specified disk size for containers was a huge challenge. The process, which involves specifying the GB size, requires engineers to continuously monitor the volume to ensure there is enough space. Otherwise, the stability of running workloads may be compromised. This challenge becomes even more pressing in cloud environments that have large amounts of data that compile within short periods of time.
This is because PVs, the storage solution that is typically connected to Kubernetes workloads, has challenges scaling on demand and can only extend once every six hours. This means they can be overwhelmed with large data ingestion, causing an application to slow down dramatically or crash due to an “out of disk” error.
On the flip side, they can’t be scaled down either, meaning that companies typically provision very large PVs to ensure application performance. They then pay for it in a monthly storage bill that’s two to four times greater than it should be.
We developed Zesty Disk for Kubernetes to overcome all of these challenges, providing greater elasticity and scalability for K8 environments.

Auto Scaling Group Wizard for Zesty Disk is Now Available
I’m thrilled to offer our Zesty Disk customers a new way to get visibility into their Auto Scaling Groups (ASGs) in just a few clicks.
Our new Auto Scaling Group Wizard for Zesty Disk enables you to view all ASGs in your environment: their status, general info such on configuration, number of instances, generated cost, and more. Users can define the volume configuration (size, disk type, and so on) as well as FS parameters such as mount point and mount name.
As a result, you can easily identify candidates that are a good fit for our Zesty Disk for Kubernetes solution and reap the benefits of greater elasticity in your environment.
Zesty’s Officially SOC 2 Type II Compliant
Our customer’s data security is the highest priority. That’s why I’m happy to share that Zesty is SOC 2 compliant, meaning we’ve met the high security guidelines of AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). This ensures our services are secure, available, confidential, and that InfoSec best practices are in place.
While we only require a read-only IAM role to use Zesty and therefore, do not touch customer data, our customers can rest assured that any metadata we do collect will be safeguarded to the highest standards.
Our SOC 2 audit report provides detailed information and assurance about the security, availability and confidentiality of our systems, and how we keep our customers’ data protected.
Club 75M!
So what does the Zesty team do when we raise $75 million? We party of course! Zesty threw a full-day event in Israel’s north to celebrate our accomplishments and thank our employees for all their hard work.
I know we couldn’t have made it to this milestone without the dedication of our amazing Zesters –– and I feel so lucky that all of these talented individuals have chosen to work with us.
Zesty’s Growth in Numbers
Zesty has grown tremendously in 2022.
This year, we signed 38 new partners, 117 new customers, hired 59 employees, and saved our customers a grand total of $100+ million dollars!
If that’s not something to be happy about, I don’t know what is. Of course, we wouldn’t be able to achieve any of this without the talent and dedication of our Zesters, who always go above and beyond to make the impossible possible.
I am so lucky to work with each and every one of you and can’t wait to see what we achieve in 2023!
I would also like to thank our customers and partners for working with us as well as our investors for believing in our value and sharing our vision.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and a very successful 2023.
